addio, giovinezza ! (1940)

turin 1910: mario, a medical student at the university, meets dorina, a sweet seamstress, and in love with her, he is loved in return. on a whim, she becomes the lover of a beautiful lady, kept in luxury by an old gentleman, but discovered by his girlfriend, he quarrels with her and leaves her, devoting himself to studies with assurance with the sole purpose of obtaining a degree. during a lunch to celebrate the event, he again meets dorina, always in love with him, but he has to leave her because he is expecting her profession as a doctor. he greets her with melancholy and sadness, leaving her alone in the big city.
